We have the usual Christmas period to choose from, with a few rules which I have yet to confirm.

My only concern is that Christmas LANs are usually fairly small, and can't really hold up a 72 hour event all by themselves. So ultimately our ability to run 72 hours at Christmas will largely depend on our success at the previous two events. If Easter and summer are large enough events that we can put away a little dosh, we can afford to splash out on a longer xmas event as we did last year.

So, presuming the 29th stays open - TBC - we can either do 26th-29th as usual, or we can go 26th-28th OR 27th-29th, depending on preference and availability.

For the time being, let's assume we have all the dates, and that all that remains is to decide if we can afford a longer event.

In which case, vote on this 'ere poll as to whether you'd prefer to be at home for boxing day or start the LAN as early after Xmas as possible. Depending on the result, we can either extend to the 29th or back to the 26th if we're confident enough.

Cheers guys.

Work commitments can potentially make Boxing day awkward, can swing it either way if I have to but IF we are going for a 48 hour lan then the later the better. My vote is for the full 72 hours though Dave as you well know!

to confirm, both the dates you have listed are 72 hour LANs? I vote to go 72hours - but given the choice of starting on 26th or 27th I vote 27th. I have a mate's b.day on 26th and I keep missing it Wink

Both dates listed are only 48 hours. 72 would, of course, be better.

To clarify - if we go with 72 hours we don't have a choice which dates we can use.

This poll applies only if we decide NOT to run 72 hours, in which case we need to choose a 48 hours period.

As I said above, we'll only run a 72 hour LAN if we can enough financial support to pay for it. The last xmas LAN ran at a considerable loss.

I'm about to check dates with the hall so I can get them up early, and actually send out emails before the event!

So I'm bumping this topic so those who haven't voted can get in there, so perhaps we can make a better informed decision and avoid hamstringing another LAN.

Same poll applies.
